    Easy Stone Center offers many different sandstones direct from quarries. Sandstones are frequently used for outdoor paving or flooring, step treads, pool coping,  outdoor countertops, fireplace hearths and surrounds, and architecture.     • Thickness: Sandstone hearths are typically 1 1/2 or 2 inches thick; some colors can be as thin as 5/8 inch, each stone is different please discuss the thickness with Mike when ordering to ensure that the stone will perform best in your circumstances. It is possible to hearths as thick as 6 or more inches.
    • Maximum length and width: Some sandstone can be provided in pieces as large as around 10 feet by 5 feet, more typical size slabs are around 8 x 4 feet. Shipping of hearths greater than 92 inches in length or greater than 24 inches front to back will require special crating and shipping.
    • Edge styles: The most popular edge styles for hearths are square or chiseled. Other edges styles are possible such as bull nose, radius top, radius top and bottom, beveled and more.
    • Surface textures: The most common surface finishes for sandstone are honed, a smooth but not shiny surface and sandblasted which is a uniformly coarse surface. Other finishes are possible such as brushed and polished on the harder stones
